Concern at airport plans
I LIVE within 10 miles of Lydd Airport and therefore Dungeness Nuclear Power Station. Both are clearly visible by day and night.
Last week I attended the hearing at The Royal Courts of Justice upon which you reported in this weeks Rye Observer and I am extremely concerned at the likely prospect of this development going ahead.
Would Shepway and the Government please think less about the need to provide short term local employment and stop to consider as highlighted by The European Commission, the dangers to the local community of a nuclear accident caused by an airliner strike and put a stop to this totally uncalled for development.
This is not and never can be London Ashford International Airport, it is Lydd Airport, that is the way it should stay.
