Giving thanks

MAY I through your columns express my appreciation for the superb organisation of the Remembrance Sunday parade at Littlehampton on Sunday and especially the work of Mr Tom Harrison and the other members of the Royal British Legion?

I would also like to thank the Rev Roger Caswell, who conducted the service at St Mary’s Church following the parade. The sermon he preached was inspiring and most thought-provoking.

It was gratifying to see so many people at the service at the war memorial, in spite of the rain.

The uniformed organisations, both youth and adult, were very well turned out and marched to the music of an excellent band.

It gave us all hope for the future as well as an appropriate recognition of those who gave their lives and continue to do so, in the service of our country.
