Councillor Helena Croft undertook at the full council meeting on 22 January 2014 to ensure that the forthcoming public meeting at 6pm on Thursday 13 February 2014 to debate the Cabinet’s Preferred Housing Strategy is advertised as widely as possible – such as local press, You tube, Twitter and local radio.

As I write (January 27), despite her promise the only announcement was in this paper last week but it does not feature on HDC’s website nor its Facebook page, nor in the local media.

It does not even feature on councillor Croft’s HDC Facebook page.

Deputy leader Helena Croft found time to talk on You tube about her political surgery and yet, as Cabinet member for communication, has not found time to record a message about this very important meeting.

Having been exposed at having meetings in secret to discuss the Cabinet’s Preferred Strategy, councillors Dawe, Vickers, Croft and Rae’s approach now appears to be to hold a public meeting but not to publicise the event.
