Letter: Not '˜nearly all' at all?

It was noticeable that this week, Cllr Karl Williamson's UKIP column appeared locally written as opposed to looking copied and pasted from UKIP national sources, as it does most weeks.

Perhaps the reason that so few of his weekly columns look locally written by Cllr Williamson is because he has little grasp of local facts.

Last week he wrote that in relation to last May’s County Council elections in Crawley that “UKIP pushed the Conservatives into third place in nearly all of the divisions.” This is untrue. Any check of the results shows that UKIP only finished ahead of the Conservatives in just two of the nine County Council seats in Crawley. Two from nine can never be “nearly all”.
