Light years off
How are we able to consider sending a group of civilians to Mars, but unable to get a set of pedestrian controlled traffic lights operating correctly?
I refer to those in Arundel Road, Littlehampton, at the town centre end, with the serial number 2153. Over the months they have operated erratically, until Friday afternoon, when they completely stopped working.
As I use this crossing frequently, I decided to complain, and phoned the company responsible. Since then, the lights may have operated correctly once or twice, but on the whole are unreliable, many people being unsure if it is safe to cross.
