Ludicrous crime

WHEN I heard about armed robbers raiding a shop in the area in last week’s Gazette (Thursday, August 23) I was stunned – not at the fact that a village store in Angmering had been targeted, but by the ridiculous nature of the crime.

I have no doubt employees and customers who witnessed the robbery must have been shaken by the whole ordeal – and rightly so!

But really... robbing a Co-op store... armed with a gun... In a quiet village... while wearing a gas mask? It’s completely ludicrous and quite frankly a shenanigan worthy of Basil Fawlty and co.

I can’t believe how utterly moronic this man must be. What a pathetic and lonely individual to target a store and get away with, perhaps, a couple of hundred quid.

And for what purpose? Who really knows. But it will probably be to feed some sort of addiction.

So, with all this in mind, I would urge anyone who knows something about the crime or gunman to call the police, immediately.

Let’s unite to get this waste of space locked away where he belongs – in a cramped prison cell.

I’m not a detective but from what I have heard, this masked buffoon seemed to know his way around the village, its back streets and passageways pretty well.

Perhaps he is – or was – a local in the area.

Come on, people, let’s get this robber locked up!
