She qualified for the finals with a time of 17.70s in the 25m Fly. All of the national qualifiers had to swim on the day for a place in the final.

Isabella won her first race with a time of 17.18 seconds, a new personal best. She then faced a swim off with another girl who had an identical time.

This was really tense as the whole gala stopped to watch the two girls race.

Isabella won and smashed her personal best with a time of 16.62s and qualified for the finals.

After a busy day (playing two netball matches in the morning before the swimming competition) she slowed down a little and finished in 8th place.

To be 8th in the country, when this time last year Isabella had never raced in a gala outside of Farlington, is mostimpressive.

Isabella has now also been selected for the Sussex County development squad.
