With the lockdown the amount of adults speeding along pavements has increasingly marked, making it very uncomfortable to walk without being skimmed all the while by either cyclists, electric scooters, Segways etc.

This should not be tolerated, because the law clearly states this and turning a blind eye has created a belief that like most things these days the rules apply to everyone else bar myself.

The seafront is a prime example of this because it has large no cycling signs, with warnings of £500 fine, but they just ride straight over them without a worry in the certain knowledge they will not be stopped.

The social distance rule cannot apply on the prom as it is barely two metres wide in places and very often you get skimmed by inches.

The word promenade means to walk at leisure but this pleasure along with a good many others are fast being eroded because of no forward planning for the long term.

Any person when they use rational thinking must realise mixing wheels with pedestrians young or old without a barrier is not a sensible option and I speak for the silent majority, who voted for the no cycling law to remain.

But as no one abides by it what’s the point of democracy?
