Road improvements?

AGAIN, a year has passed and little has been done to improve the roads around West Sussex.

With the arrival of winter our roads will fall into an even worse state than last winter.

There are cracks and potholes everywhere and once the frost and ice get in, the roads will fall apart again as last year.

The highways management will again blame the winter – in reality it’s the poor and badly maintained roads that are to blame.

As usual, I guess us British will just put up with it and keep spending out on repairs to our damaged vehicles.

Why is it, I ask, do we just grin and bear it and do nothing? While the roads fall apart the men in suits will take our taxes.

Remember, apart from car tax and fuel duty, we also pay taxes on all the servicing and repairs to our vehicles caused by the damage that is caused by the poor roads.

They spend plenty on the motorways but it’s not all of us that drive regularly on the motorways. What about spending some money on the rest of our roads?
