ALTHOUGH I agree with Joy Hughes' description of Old Bexhill Cinema as a jewel, one wonders what she has done to protect this jewel, apart from jumping on the bandwagon!

Has she for example gathered together a group of likeminded councillors to see if it is possible to put some pressure on the owners to prevent it falling into further disrepair?

What is the point of sitting around producing schemes for the town centre when the problems of this building are not addressed?

Where was Joy Hughes’ voice when the council made a smash and grab raid on our jewel of a seafront? Strangely silent. Do her constituents know, even now, what she thinks about the seafront development and in particular the notorious ‘shelters’?
