Thanks for craft fair

CONGRATULATIONS to all involved with the Christmas craft fair held in Bexhill Museum on Saturday, December 4 - one of the very few events not called off because of the wintry conditions.

Particular thanks are due to Claire Eden and Emma Tickner, the organisers of the event, and to the 11 stall holders who made the day possible.

To to my fellow directors, Peter Booth, John Dowling, Chris O’Grady and Rachel Whitham, all on duty and to the host of other volunteers who worked tirelessly to ensure that the fair took place.

Thanks are also due to the nine Bexhill businesses who most generously donated the raffle prizes. And of course we must not forget the public whose support made for a very successful day.

What was most gratifying for me was to see so many newly-enrolled volunteers on duty alongside our regular helpers, who included the Society’s honorary president, Megan Traice, whose connection with Bexhill Museum goes back some 30 years or more.

I must not forget the Hollington Tipteerers who performed a traditional Mummers Play to a very appreciative audience.

Finally, thanks go to Rother District Council curator Julian Porter, on duty all day,

who with a little help from myself, conducted the raffle draw to bring proceedings to a

close.
