What nonsense from McCarthy & Stone '“ you are destroying homes

WHO on earth does Mr Paul Trofimov, managing director of McCarthy & Stone, think he is, trying to kid anyone?

Reading his letter (Gazette, April 10), you would think that McCarthy & Stone is a cross between social services and Help the Aged. His attack on Mr Harvey was outrageous.

McCarthy & Stone is a billion- pound company charging top rates for flats many elderly people can't afford anyway.

It made me laugh when he stated his company is releasing family homes back onto the market.

No you are not, Mr Trofimov.

Your company is destroying them in Littlehampton and if anyone should be ashamed, it's you, citing the British public as no better than a nation of granny dumpers.

If you are as concerned as you say you are, about care in the community, then why doesn't McCarthy & Stone pay for Littlehampton's new hospital?

May I suggest that if you are not prepared to contribute, then I'm sure I can speak for the many good people of Littlehampton (as you so patronisingly call us) '” keep your company and business out of Littlehampton!

Keith Hunter, St Mary's Close, Littlehampton
