What's that coming down the path, is it a monster?
I WONDER if anyone can identify this creature I found in our back garden? It's a scary-looking thing and ejected some fluid onto the path.

* Editor's note: My hunch that this is an elephant hawk moth caterpillar was confirmed by a quick search of the internet. They are actually fairly common, but, if you haven't seen one before, certainly look like a mini-monster, which, of course, is part of their defence mechanism.
