Pompey also one up over Worthing

I AM sorry to hear you find it difficult to drive into Worthing these days.

It's probably because of all the other people trying to drive into Worthing at the same time.

You can't really complain about the traffic if you are the traffic.

We never drive into Worthing these days: it's slow and frustrating, and parking is expensive.

Instead, we cycle in along the coastal cycle path (free, fun and healthy) or take the Pulse bus (cheaper than parking, fun and more convenient: no need to spend ages finding a parking space).

I would strongly recommend that those who do think they need to drive into town to join cyclists in campaigning for a better cycling environment.

Every cyclist you pass is probably one less car on the road and thus less congestion.

What Worthing really needs is a blanket 20mph speed limit, like that which has proved to be so popular in Portsmouth.

Slower speeds mean more pedestrians and cyclists, so fewer cars to get jammed up.

It's also easier to pull out from junctions into slower-moving traffic, making journey times quicker overall.

Worthing would instantly be a much more pleasant place to live and go shopping, as Portsmouth has become over the last year.
