Shame about state of road

Seeing the article about Councillor Rankin's concerns over his constituents having to negotiate over roads which have numerous potholes, it is a great shame he does not show the same concerns for the road he owns, namely Old Roar Road.

This road suffers numerous potholes over its entire lengths and though he collects payments of an annual £40 levy towards the cost of maintenance, residents have to wait months to have the work carried out.

It is appreciated that some residents refuse to pay as at least a third of what is collected goes towards accountants etc, which under previous owners a levy was collected by the residents and 90 per cent went into the repair of the road.

There are also issues over the gate which is kept locked and residents are not allowed to have vehicular access, although under previous owners, keys could be purchased to allow them to use this facility.

This was in use for a large part of the 20th Century, at one time a swipe card system was implemented until it was damaged, and the old system was re-instated.
