Pan fire in Falconbury Drive

A POTENTIAL major fire was averted on Thursday morning thanks to a postman doing his rounds in Falconbury Drive.

A fire and rescue officer from Bexhill fire station said they attended the scene after receiving a call from a neighbour.

He said: "The occupants of the bungalow left the premises leaving a pan of food cooking which subsequently caught fire. When the postman arrived to deliver mail to the property he heard the smoke alarm and smelt smoke, he then informed the neighbours who called the fire service."

No one was injured and the property suffered some smoke damage.
