Drivers urged to avoid A24 after crash

Drivers are being urged to avoid the A24 northbound after a crash between a tractor and a lorry.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue said on Twitter the incident happened northbound after the Buckbarn crossroads near Bar Lane at 2.12pm.

Crews from Billingshurst, Horsham and Worthing fire stations attended the scene of the crash between the two vehicles, a spokesman said.

One person was rescued from the lorry, he added.

The spokesman said: “All of our crews have now left the scene, but drivers should avoid the area for the time being while the vehicles are recovered.”
An ambulance service spokesman confirmed ambulance crews attended the scene following reports of a crash at approximately 2pm.

He added: “One person, with injuries including a leg injury, has been assessed and treated at the scene before being taken to Worthing Hospital.”
