A fireworks display planned for Hastings Old Town Carnival Day has been cancelled due to the weather.

Fireworks were scheduled from Hastings Castle at dusk on Saturday August 5, following the carnival procession, which starts at 5pm.

But a decision was made to cancel today given a forecast predicting rain and high winds.

Heavy rain is forecast for much of Saturday but the Met Office forecast, as of today, is predicting a 30 percent chance of lighter rain at the time the procession is due to leave Rock-a-Nore Road at 5pm.
