Nearly 100 Eastbourne school children will take to the stage with BGT ventriloquist Steve Hewlett

A fundraising night involving more than 100 school children and Britain’s Got Talent ventriloquist Steve Hewlett will take place on April 4.

The concert event is being organised by community fundraisers Don and Abby McPhee and held at All Saints Chapel.

Don said, “We have invited many schools to perform and the response was incredible.”

There will be performances from Ratton School Choir, Motcombe School Choir, Sussex School of Dance, Gildredge House, Ratton School Irish Dancers and soloists Emma Blay from Cavendish School and Grace Struridge from Oakwood School.

Jade Powers and Steve Hewlett will also take to the stage. Steve will co-host the event alongside Abby. Steve is about to embark on his third UK tour called One Man, Many Friends. He is also writing a book about his life and career as a ventriloquist.

There will be homemade cakes and refreshments on offer in the interval a nd a raffle will also help to bring in money for the charity One Star Three Wishes, which helps the children and partners of parents who have died suddenly.

The raffle will be drawn by Eastbourne and Willingdon MP Caroline Ansell and leader of Eastbourne Borough Council Cllr David Tutt.
