Pictures sent to Eastbourne care home help brighten the day of residents in lockdown

Pictures, paintings, and delicate painted shells, made by people from the local community have been sent to an Eastbourne care home to help brighten the day of the residents at this difficult time.

Residents at Mortain Place care home, on Pevensey Bay Road, said the gifts had ‘made their day’.

Residents at the home enjoy engaging with the community to keeps spirits high, as visitors are currently not able to visit the home at this time.

Karen Howell, general manager at Mortain place Care Home, said: “In these unprecedented times, ensuring residents feel engaged and connected within our local community is more important than ever.

“Our residents really enjoyed receiving the various creations, especially the shells painted to look like flowers and Dragonflies. We continue to provide a wide range of physical, mental and spiritual activities at Mortain Place, as part of the life enrichment programme for our residents, and we hope that these new friendships will continue beyond the current situation.”

The residents and staff look forward to inviting the local people involved for afternoon tea once they are accepting visitors again.
