Caddies Crawley in the Multiplex had its official opening yesterday (August 15) and we went along to test the food and have a game of crazy golf - and we weren’t disappointed.

Before I arrived, I was curious to know how Caddies could fit an 18-hole crazy golf course in the small space, which was previously occupied by a steakhouse. Once I stepped in, I knew this place was going to be special.

From the start, I was blown away by the eccentric interior design and selfie opportunities that were dotted around the crazy golf course.

We were greeted by two attentive hosts and were given our food, cocktail, and crazy golf packages.

As my friends and I had all finished work not too long before we arrived, the group decided to opt for food first.

We were sat down and served by our waitress. We first chose our cocktails. I’m not a big drinker, but decided to opt for the ‘The Bob Marley’ cocktail, which mixed Malibu and Archers together with strawberry slush and their secret recipe ‘strawberry jam puree’. My friends chose ‘The Ziggy Marley’ and ‘Hubbly Bubbly’. We then decided on our food to which I chose the house vegan burger and my friends chose the bacon and cheese burger and buffalo cheese chicken burger.

Our drinks arrived and the presentation of the drinks was very colourful. Each cocktail had a ‘sweet kebab’ on top and the cocktail reminded me of an alcoholic ‘slushie’. Although the drink was sweet, it was refreshing, especially when sitting out on the balcony enjoying the Crawley skyline. My friends commented that it reminded them of being abroad.

The food arrived and the presentation was excellent. I had the house vegan burger and you couldn’t tell it was meatless. I highly recommend the vegan options.

After the food, I took a visit to the gentlemen’s and I was impressed by the eccentricity of the bathrooms. It reminded me of the old bubble works ride at Chessington World of Adventure.

We then took on the 18-hole crazy golf course. There were six of us and we all enjoyed the well-designed course. The course involved many interactive parts and we were all in hysterics from the ‘celestial sausage’. It had everything you expect from a modern crazy golf course, and we were given two opportunities to win a free round of golf through a ‘cheeky’ interactive picture.

It was busy on the opening night, so it got a bit crowded on the crazy golf course but this was to be expected. Overall, it was a great night out and we ended it having a drink on the balcony in the evening heat.
