Thirty per cent of the homes will be affordable.

Craige Burden, head of planning at Redrow Southern Counties, said: “Securing this planning permission is an exciting step forward for Redrow and our plans to deliver an increased number of high quality new homes across West Sussex.

"We’re grateful to Arun District Council and Yapton Parish Council for their help to shape the proposals and ensure we’re delivering homes to suit the area and a range of buyer demographics, while providing carefully planned green open spaces and wider community investment.

“We look forward to commencing construction and launching the development for sale in March 2021.”

The development has been designed around a central village green, representing the focal point of the development, which includes a retained public right of way crossing the site.

The green forms part of a wider 3.3 hectares of open space and landscaping, with a green corridor along the southern and eastern edges of the development.

Redrow is also investing in the wider community, with s106 contributions towards primary and secondary education, local fire services, sports facilities, highways and a library.

Meadow Gardens is situated to the north of the village.
