Village Choir: On Monday October 20 the Village Choir will meet again at 7:30pm in Pett Methodist Chapel.

Pett Older People’s Project: On Tuesday October 21 POPP will feature singer Carol Mellower. The session runs from 10:30am to 2:30pm and will include a two-course lunch for just £5.

Pett Parish Council: Also on Tuesday October 21 Pett Parish Council will meet in Pett Village Hall at 7:30pm. This will be a particularly important meeting, as the Council has to make a decision about the new sports pavilion. As has been mentioned before, there was a shortfall in funding, which could be made up with a loan from the Public Works Loan Board but this would have to be paid out of the precept. This would involve a rise of between £4.25 and £5.27 per household, depending on the length of the term of the loan. There has been much interest in this with differing views being expressed and this matter will be the main agenda item at this meeting. It is here that villagers can see plans for the new pavilion and give their views on the future of this village asset. The Parish Council wants to hear the views of residents in order that it can make an informed decision so do come along and make your views known.

Halloween Bonfire: The end of October is fast approaching, which will mean that the annual Halloween event will take place at Pett Village Hall on Sunday October 26 This is run by the Village Hall Committee for the village community. It is a chance for young and old to come along to enjoy a spooky evening with a roaring Bonfire (but no fireworks). You can dress up and take part in the fancy dress competition and there will be games for all the children to play and prizes to be won. There will also be an amazing BBQ with ‘Howling Hot Dogs’ and Bloodthirsty Bangers’ and you can indulge yourself with a warming glass of mulled wine! The only thing that cannot be guaranteed is the weather but fair or foul, it promises to be a fun evening.
