PICTURES: Ex-students hold charity match for food bank

Former school friends in Littlehampton and Angmering met each other on the pitch at the weekend for a charity football match to raise funds for a food bank.

The ex-students of Littlehampton School took on the ex-students of Angmering school, asking spectators to donate tinned foods, pasta sauce, biscuits, milk, fruit juice and cereals.

The game, which took place at the Angmering FC ground in Decoy Drive, Angmering, ended in an eight goal ‘thriller’ with the ex-Angmering students coming out on top, the final score being 5-3.

The match follows a previous event held in December last year.

Organiser Ben Gray said: “After the success of the winter game, both teams decided to take to the field again to try and raise more donations. With the weather being a little bit better, both teams were hopeful that this would help gain more spectators and donations.

“With the help of spectators, both teams raised a whopping 380 donations for the Littlehampton Food Bank. Both teams will be looking to take to the field again in December 2016, to raise more donations.”
