The nationwide campaign aims to unite people from across the country to clear up litter from towns, villages, countryside and the coastline.

The event was hosted at The Selsey Centre in conjunction with community warden, Carol McClung.

Schoolchildren from Medmerry Primary School and The Academy Selsey were dispatched across town to assist with clearing rubbish.

Carol McClung said: “The local children were really keen to get involved and I’m grateful to Selsey Town Council for their support in organising the event.

“It is estimated around 500,000 people across the UK will take part in this year’s event and Selsey are proud to be part of it.”
