Plea made to join Littlehampton Armed Forces Day

UNIFORMED groups are being called to stand to attention in preparation for this year’s Armed Forces Day spectacular in Littlehampton.

Event organisers from the Littlehampton Town Council are this week asking groups to show their support to the event, which pays tributes to all the nation’s courageous armed forces personnel, past and present.

The day has grown in popularity every year and attracts thousands of visitors to it.

This year’s bonanza will take place on June 27, at The Green, and is in partnership with Harbour Park.

Visitors should expect to be treated to the traditional drumhead service.

Other popular attractions making a welcome return will include live band displays, a charity fair, a military vehicles show and a death-defying aerobatics display.

The town council is urging uniformed groups and individual fundraisers that are drumming up cash for services charities, who are looking to hold a pitch on the day, to apply.

Other people the authority is keen to hear from are those with a collection of military memorabilia or items they would like to display.

Anyone interested in taking part can fill in a form online on the town council’s website at
www.littlehampton-tc.gov.uk, or by ringing 01903 732063 for more information.

The deadline for bookings is March 27.
