Police offer £500 reward to help find Brighton stabbing suspect

Sussex Police are looking to trace 18-year-old Jordan Ash from Brighton, after another 18-year-old man was stabbed in KFC, London Road.

The incident took place at around at 8.25pm on Saturday, July 22, and the victim was taken to Kings College Hospital in South London where police say he is in a stable condition.

Ash is described as white, 5ft 9, of slim build, with dark brown hair and brown eyes.

Detective Constable Tom Coll said; "We have been carrying out widespread enquiries throughout the city to find Ash, and also in the Horsham area where we believe he may also have been recently.

"If you know where Ash is or see him, do not approach him but please contact the police via 999 quoting serial 1363 of 22/07.

"If you have any other information or saw what happened, please contact us online also quoting the same reference."

Mehash McKenzie, 23, a sales assistant, of Bolney Road, Brighton, and a 15-year-old-boy also from Brighton, have been charged with causing grievous bodily harm to the victim, and with possession of a knife in a public place.

They appeared before Brighton magistrates on Monday (July 24) and McKenzie will remain in custody until his trial, with an initial hearing at Lewes Crown Court on Monday, August 21. The 15-year-old was remanded into local authority care and will also appear at the same hearing on August 21.
