Procession will getIden village fete offto a rousing start

The fete is the biggest event on the village calendar and attracts hundreds of people each year.

It takes place on the playing fields with gates opening at noon and the fun starting at 1pm.

As in previous years there will be a big boot sale taking place alongside the fete.

The band will be marching from the Bell pub at 12.50pm, proceeding along Church Lane to the playing fields.

Attractions at the event include performances by Hastings based Morris side Mad Jacks and music from Sarah G and the Other 3.

Organisers are promising more arena events than ever this year and there will be the usual fun dog show with classes for fancy dress and the naughtiest dog.

There is ample parking on site at £3 a car, including a programme and entry.

There are fairground rides for children as well as face-painting and inflatables.

People arriving should be aware that vehicles will not be able to pass the march until it has reached the playing fields.
