£15,000 appeal to buy Nyetimber boy a wheelchair

A £15,000 appeal has been launched to give a Nyetimber boy more independence.

Peter Langton is like any other 11-year-old. He loves spending time on his computer, playing with his twin brother and is a huge Dr Who fan.

He has also started secondary school this week along with thousands of others around the county.

The one difference is that Peter has the incurable condition of cerebral palsy which affects the development and movement of muscles in the body.

He needs the permanent use of a wheelchair but his NHS manual one means he cannot move around on his own.

But a 15,000 powered stand-up wheelchair would give him that freedom as well as the all-important ability to stand up and stretch his leg muscles.

National disability charity Action for Kids has launched a postal appeal to West Sussex residents to buy him the wheelchair.
