PUMPKINS carved by pupils lit up a school's Hallowe'en disco.

Children from Upper Beeding Primary School took part in the school’s first pumpkin carving competition.

All entries were then displayed at the disco, on October 18, and helped to create a wonderfully spooky atmosphere.

Children and parents danced to Hallowe’en classics before the winners were presented with a ghoulish goody bag.

The carving winners were: reception, Alice King; year one, Lenny Higgins; year two, Jack Berry; year three, Alf Phillipps; year four, Paris Kenward; year five, Lizzie Cowan; year six, Charlie Carne.

The event, organised by Friends of Upper Beeding School, raised £500 for the school.
