RAFA Fair

ALMOST £600 was made at a packed RAFA spring fair on Saturday.

Donations from members of the public ensured the final profit figure totalled 580.

Manning the entrance at the Albatross Club, Channel View, was RAFA president Ken Igglesden.

He said: "I'm delighted. It has been full of people since we opened.

"I'm not sure what the reason is. I think it might be because there isn't much else on today."

Popular draws included the tombola, raffle, cake and book stalls.

A crowd gathered to look at the home-made cards crafted by Elizabeth Leahy.

She said: "I'm inclined to rush them at the last minute! But I always do it for the monthly coffee mornings and the spring fairs."
