The Royal Wessex, hauled by West Country locomotive No.34046, travelled from Three Bridges to Weymouth, before heading back to Hove in the evening.

Readers sent in their pictures and videos of the W45C train passing through stations at Barnham, Chichester and Bosham. Paula Miller snapped it at Bosham station and said: “What a wonderful sight and amazing smell.”

It was organised by The Railway Touring Company, which organises the steam trips.
