Schools close as flooding worsens

SEVERAL schools in the Observer area have closed because of flooding problems - or fears of the worsening floods on the area's roads.

Many have issued pleas for parents to collect children this afternoon, so both staff and pupils can get home safely.

The schools which are closing on Monday, June 11, are:

- Downview Primary School in Bognor Regis - parents can collect children this afternoon

- Laburnum Grove Junior School in Bognor Regis

- Edward Bryant School in Bognor Regis

- West Wittering School - closed at 1pm, pupils need to be collected by 3pm

- Littlegreen School in Compton

- Rose Green Junior School
