Schools join in a sporty competition

NORTH Lancing Primary School has come out on top in the annual indoor athletics event that saw four primary schools come together to compete.

The annual Lancing Primary Schools Indoor Athletics Meeting was held on Thursday, January 29, at Sir Robert Woodard Academy’s Sports Hall.

The event was organised and run by staff and pupils from the academy.

More than 100 boys and girls from years five and six, across the four local primary schools, competed in a variety of sprint, relay and obstacle races.

There were also several jumping and throwing events to take part in.

North Lancing Primary School, coached by John Whiteside, won four out the five trophies, including the overall winners trophy for the 12th year running.

Runners up were The Globe in fourth place, Seaside in third and Sompting Village in second.
