Second biker in a week killed in Bexhill crash

THE second motorcyclist in a week to be killed on Bexhill's roads died after hitting a lamp post in Barnhorn Road on Tuesday evening.

The 8.10pm collision closed the A259 between Little Common and Pevensey while emergency services attended the scene.

The accident happened at the top of Barnhorn Hill.

Police said the dead rider was one of a group of motorcyclists from Kent who were riding towards Bexhill when a Suzuki 750cc machine left the road.

The rider is believed to have been in his thirties and from Maidstone.

Police are appealing for witnesses to call 0845 60 70 999 quoting Operation Gowran.

Last Wednesday, a collision between a motorcycle and a car on the A259 closed De La Warr Road from mid-afternoon to mid-evening.

The Kent Air Ambulance landed in the road and air-lifted the seriously injured motorcyclist to a London Hospital, where he died.

He was David John Radford, 39, of Whatlington Road, St Leonards.
