Try not to miss the fayre on the Green and the Queen’s Head gardens this Saturday July 19 Fayre from at 1.00 pm till 4.30.pm. organised by Ralph Dellow, supported by Demi our PCSO and our local school to raise enable Christian who has cerebral palsy to be able to walk without assistance. In addition to the usual craft stalls and games there will be a programme of varied entertainment throughout the afternoon starting at 1.00 pm. In addition to this other highlights include Guess the weight of a Marmalade ‘lade’ a shire horse, Amy Pennington’s portrait machine, your portrait drawn in a few minutes

Fortune teller, very popular at the Spring Fayre, a Hog roast from ’Pigs Might Fly’, a demonstration of the art of spinning – children may like to try and Luke Brabant an artist. There will be no entry fee but it is hoped you will buy lots of raffle tickets in lieu of this for which there are ten prizes.

Something different for the village now, there will be a fashion show by Marks & Spencer’s taking place in Sedlescombe village hall at 7.30pm on Wednesday July 23. Everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy the evening. There will be an entrance fee of £2 per person which includes tea, cake and tasters from the Marks & Spencer food hall, what a bargain , so don’t miss out. Come and see what Marks & Spencer can do for you as well as to taste their lovely food.

Sedlescombe and district flower club had a very interesting evening when Christine Nash interpreted “Travelling Light” at their recent meeting in the village hall. This included travelling around the world to many countries interpreted by her beautiful arrangements , these were then raffled off to the lucky spectators who attended. 70th Anniversary Celebrations. The Village Garden Society is celebrating their 70th anniversary this year with a special Summer Horticultural show and Mini Fayre. The event will be held on Saturday August 2 on the Village Green and will commence at 2 p.m. As well as the flower, vegetable, floral art, cookery and handicraft exhibits there will be a special 70th Anniversary tent portraying a pictorial view of the village through the 70 years. Joining the celebrations will be a host of other societies and companies from the village, who will all have stalls on the village green to make this an event not to miss. St Michaels Hospice Open garden scheme continues on Tuesday July 22 in Robertsbridge with nine gardens open in the area from 10.30am to 4.00pm. Admission is £5 to visit all the gardens that are open. Refreshments will be available throughout the day at Mountcalm, Brightling Road, TN32 5DR. Full details of all the gardens involved can be found in booklets available now at the village shop for a token donation of 50p.
