Summer house for school

GLYNE Gap School has a new summer house in its grounds, thanks to members and officials of Bexhill 100 Motoring Club and the many people who supported its August Bank Holiday Classic and Custom Car Show, staged at the Polegrove.

The show’s success enabled the club to divide £4,000 equally between four local charities, and as one of the chosen recipients, the school opted to spend its donation on the new facility for the enjoyment of its pupils.

To mark completion of its construction, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Monday, November 28 with Bexhill 100 Motoring Club chairman, Dave Dickens-Smith, invited to do the honours. Champagne, and nibbles prepared earlier by pupils, added to the occasion.

Club spokesman Bob Wilkinson said: “We were delighted to be able to support the school, and a big thank you is due to all those who took part in or visited our show back in August.

“It was a tremendous success and without such support we would not be able to raise these funds for local charities.”
