The 19-year-old has been arrested for grevious bodily harm with intent and released on police bail while further inquiries take place.

DC Jo French, of Bognor police station, said: "It is believed that during this assault the offender took hold of the victim's ear with his teeth, causing the top part of his ear to be bitten off.

"This has obviously caused the victim pain and distress as he required hospital treatment. Reconstructive surgery will be required to repair the damage."

Details of the attack were released on Tuesday, April 29, though the incident took place between midnight and 1am on April 10.

It began with a row between the two men in the kebab shop in the Queensway.

The argument continued on to the street.
