FLOODING UPDATE: Littlehampton town centre roads under water

Part of East Street, between the Waitrose supermarket and High Street, has been closed to traffic because of the flooding and only pedestrians with Wellington boots are managing to wade through the deep water.

The top end of Beach Road also has pavements and the road under water and other roads affected include Bayford Road, Church Street and Arcade Road.

Part of South Terrace and some side streets in that area remain cordoned off while the emergency services continue to deal with serious flooding which caused extensive damage to more than 30 properties in the early hours of this morning.
