VIDEO: Police investigating fire incident near Horsham church

Police have cordoned off an area near a Horsham church this morning (Thursday March 19) after a fire in an outbuilding nearby.

A West Sussex Fire and Rescue spokesman said crews were called at around 4.15am to Brighton Road near the Baptist church there.

A single storey outbuilding measuring ten metres by two metres was alight and it was 50 per cent damaged by fire.

Sussex Police have taped off the area around the church.

A police spokesman said: “Police were called at 4.20am today (March 19) to a report that the outbuildings at a Chinese takeaway in Brighton Road, Horsham, were on fire.

“Officers attended and the cause of the fire is currently being investigated.”
