Two exporters commended

Businesses from Uckfield and Horam have been commended for export achievement and on Thursday will be considered for a top regional award.

Scientifica, of Uckfield, which develops and produces scientific instrumentation, and Fun to See, of Horam, manufacturers and retailers of children's make-over kits, are among 13 businesses to be commended in the UK Trade and Investment South East International Trade Awards.

At the final award event on Thursday the overall South East Exporter of the Year will be named along with winners of three other awards, New Exporter, High Growth Company and Emerging Markets.

Chris Innes, executive manager at UK Trade and Investment said:

'In so many cases moving into an overseas market is essential for a firm's successful expansion but at first it can seem a daunting step. However the high level of achievement demonstrated by all the commended firms shows that the rewards can be significant. They all deserve our praise.'
