UPDATE: Man seriously injured after bike and car crash

A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash involving a motorbike and a car this afternoon (Friday August 5).

Emergency services were called to Froggetts Lane in Walliswood at 9.45am.

Police said the crash involved an orange and black Honda motorcycle and a grey Vauxhall Zafira.

A man, in his 20s, who was riding the motorbike, suffered serious leg injuries and was taken by ambulance to St George’s Hospital in Tooting, officers added.

No other injuries were reported.

Officers closed the road at both junctions with Horsham Road whilst specialist collision investigators examined the scene. The road has since been re-opened.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call the Surrey Police Collision Investigation Unit on 01483 639922 or the 101 non-emergency number, quoting reference P16176470.
