Vandal drives across cricket pitch and village green
POLICE have seized a car, after its mindless owner drove it over the village green and cricket pitch in Ringmer.
The reckless teenage driver had already been given a warning for doing exactly the same thing just weeks before, so a police community support officer took the tough step of taking the car from him.
The driver, aged17, will now have to pay a fine or the car, a red Ford Fiesta, will be sold for police charitable funds or crushed.
PCSO Andrew Dunkling said: 'Driving across the cricket pitch which is used by so many local residents and visitors to Ringmer is not acceptable.'
