Here is when lightning is expected to hit both East and West Sussex, according to the Met Office.

A yellow thunderstorm warning has been issued across Sussex and will be in place until 2am tomorrow (Monday, October 24).

The Met Office predicts that at 4pm today Sussex will experience thunder and lightning. East Sussex has an 80 per cent chance, while West Sussex has a 70 per cent.

Some residents experienced lightning earlier this morning in East Sussex.

Despite the storm, West Sussex is expected to have a dry day from 5pm onwards, while East Sussex could see showers at 5pm and 11pm through to the early hours of Monday.

The Met Office said West Sussex should have a cloudy but dry day tomorrow with highs of 16° and lows of 14°.

East Sussex is also expected to have a cloudy day with a 60 per cent chance of rain at midday.

The country could also see highs of 16° and lows of 14°
