Winchelsea

Cindi Cogswell, 31 Highfords, Icklesham

This Wednesday February 12th the Second Wednesday Society will be meeting at 2.30pm in the New Hall. Winchelsea resident Tina Alexander will be talking on ‘Nightingale Notes’ which may have a ring to it of symphonic bird song but actually owes its title to the founder of modern nursing, Florence Nightingale. In 1860 Florence Nightingale set up the Nightingale Training School at St Thomas’ Hospital, for training in nursing and Tina will be recalling her days as a Nightingale Nurse. Following the talk there will be a home-made tea and the cost for members is £1 and for non-members £4 which includes talk and tea.

Next Saturday February 15th at 12 noon the annual Christian Love Feast will take place at Winchelsea Methodist Chapel. Mrs Jo Hibbard from London, together with Rev Ian Pruden will be conducting the event which is an opportunity to share a simple light meal and reflect upon faith. Everyone is invited to join in the sacrament, there is no need to book and food will be provided.
