Sidley, who were keen for the match to go ahead, were on 61-4 from 12 overs before rain stopped play. Because they had batted for more than 10 of their overs, it constituted a game which gave Littlehampton victory. Sidley had to reach 78 from their first 10 overs to be in a winning position.
