Blues flying high

SIDLEY United continued their flying start to the Sussex League season on Tuesday with a 3-1 win against Peacehaven & Telscombe.

Three first half goals secured the points for The Blues much to the delight of joint-manager Peter Heritage. "I am very pleased with the result and we won fairly comfortably in the end," he said.

After Kevin Rose missed a twice taken penalty early on, Paul Balch gave the visitors the lead with a brilliant finish. Sidley dominated from that moment as Rose made up for his earlier misdemeanour to make it 2-0 before Wes Tate killed off the game five minutes later.

Peacehaven pulled one back in the second half through a Matt Balmer penalty.
