A Juan Onieva double put Tooting 2-0 up, and though Jamie Cade’s finish sparked Horsham into life, they were unable to score a second goal.

Charman said: “I felt in the warm-up and just before the game that things weren’t quite right - I don’t know what it was, I couldn’t put my finger on it.

“It showed because the first 45 minutes was nowhere near good enough.”

The manager did however praise his team for a spirited second half showing.

He added: “Me and Rob really got into them at half time and rightly so, they deserved it.

“To be fair they came out and gave absolutely everything.

“We were so dominant and we had that Ross (Morley) chance with about half an hour to go. If that goes in we go on to win the game 4-2 or 5-2, I’m sure of it.”

Charman also reiterated that he hopes to make additions to the squad in the coming weeks.
