VIDEO: Horsham skipper Gallagher relived to beat Worthing

Horsham captain Craig Gallagher was mightily relievedto see his side squeak home to a two-wicket win over Worthing.

Chasing Worthing’s 205 all out, a good opening partnership between James Johnson (35) - on his first Horsham game this year - and Ben Shoare (34) had the hosts in good stead, and John Burroughs added 36 at number four.

But quick wickets in the middle order lead to a tight finish, and needing 12 off the final three overs with only two wickets in hand Paul Williams (18 not out) and James Newland (nine not out) hit the winning runs to see Horsham home in the penultimate over.

Earlier in Worthing’s innings Michael Gould struck a rapid 60, but struggling at 89-5 good late knocks from Andy Lutwyche (44) and Ian Gooding (46) helped the visitors over 200.

Michael Munday helped himself to another five wickets.
