Priory will seek their first Sussex Premier League victory of the season at home to Three Bridges today (Saturday) buoyed by a draw away to Preston Nomads in the league and a cup triumph at Bexhill last weekend.

First team coach Ian Gillespie said: “It’s been a positive weekend and we can look forward to next weekend pretty positively. We probably see ourselves behind East Grinstead and Horsham, and Nomads perhaps, but apart from that we feel we’ve got a squad capable of beating anyone.

“I think the frustration is that we’ve not done that yet and obviously while we’re looking for a win there’s a little bit more pressure on to get that first win.

“But certainly we’ll approach it positively and hopefully we can just get over the line this week, and get a win to kick-start the season and get us moving up the table.”

Although second-bottom of the early league table, Priory were just two wickets away from beating reigning champions Nomads last weekend and the victory over Bexhill set up an ECB Royal London Club Championship regional final away to East Grinstead on Sunday June 22.

George Campbell and Finn Hulbert are unavailable today because of work and school commitments, but John Morgan is expected to return. The seconds of Priory will play away to their Three Bridges counterparts.
